This is a rare opportunity to join me for en plein air painting using oil paint. The destination: the landscape surrounding my studio, nestled alongside the bushland of Ashgrove.

While preparing for my recent small works show, I recognised a growing pull toward depicting the surroundings of the place where I paint most days. The trees in particular, each possess their own individual character, shifting and transforming as the day progresses.

Capturing these fleeting moments can be challenging, but that is the joy of painting outdoors. It hones your drawing skills and encourages you to paint with immediacy and intuition.

Access is relatively easy for our outdoor subject. This workshop will go ahead regardless of the weather. A contingency plan is in place!
